Star Wars and MTV News

Continuing the 30th Anniversary celebration of Star Wars, there is a new novel detailing the making of the original Star Wars movie. The Making of Star Wars: The Definitive Story Behind the Original Film by J.W. Rinzler takes an insider's look at the mind of George Lucas from 1968, when he first had the idea for Star Wars, to 1977 when the movie was finally released. There are some extraordinary photos from the various sets and amazing revelations on the obstacles George Lucas faced in making this groundbreaking movie. This book is a must for any Star Wars fan!

Never wag your finger at the dark Lord of the Sith.

Got your creative groove on? If you ever watched the MTV Movie Awards chances are you saw one of their movie spoofs. If you ever thought, "I could do better job than that!" here's your chance. MTV and Yahoo are allowing fans to do their own movie spoofs by visiting this website. There is a list of movies that you can spoof and clips from the movie that you can use. I'm working on my storyboards right now!

Finally, here is another production photo from the set of Iron Man with Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark. Getting giddy with it!!

Viral Will Ferrell

Will Ferrell has put out a short video that is hysterical. Apparently, this is the first video of a series of videos that he plans to produce. I only hope they are all as I laughed so hard my kidney is bleeding hilarious as this one.

The Landlord

Here is an interview with Adam McKay, the co-star, co-writer, and father of Pearl the landlord.

Love me some Jott!!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to share an amazing new service called Jott. It's a free web service that is like having a personal assistant 24/7. Except I always envisioned my personal assistant to have long legs, a short skirt, and bosoms that defy gravity. But Jott will do for now. Click here to try it for free and send me a Jott!!!

Iron Man Grey

How many of you saw Grindhouse over the weekend? According to the box office receipts, not too many of you. I saw it and wet myself with joy. Yes, it's 3 hours. Yes, it's over the top. Yes, it's got Rose McGowan with a machine gun leg. But, oh sooo much fun! Those wacky guys Quentin Tarentino and Robert Rodriguez definitely know how to frame a story for a particular genre. And each of them craft their film with the style and tone they are respectively known for. Planet Terror, Rodriguez's film is a non-stop ball of kinetic zombie carnage, sexual energy, and velveeta cheesy dialogue. Tarentino's Deathproof brings the action train to a dead crawl but amps up the trademark Tarentino diatribes. The action express does get rolling again near the end for a spectacular pay off.

Unfortunately Harvey Wienstein, who distributed the film, was very dissappointed with the weekend take and is considering splitting the double feature and releasing each movie individually with extra footage. This is what Dimension is doing for the DVD release of Grindhouse. I hope he doesn't follow through with this plan. If he does, everyone needs to go out and see this film as a double feature while you can.

Ain't It Cool News has posted a pic of the early Iron Man suit.

Looks pretty cool. Can't wait to see what the "modern" suit will look like!

Good Friday and The Grindhouse

Good Friday everyone! Not sure why Christians call today "Good Friday". Shouldn't it be "Bad Friday", "Black Friday", "Tragic Friday", or at the least "Somewhat Sucky Friday"? Someone should bring this up to the Pope.

Well my day isn't starting off so good. I have a sore on my tongue which makes eating difficult if not painful. Maybe my agony is just going with the theme of today. I should just go with it. I'll start by watching The Passion of the Christ. Then I'll transition to Schindler's List, and after work, I'll catch Grindhouse. If anyone else is interested in seeing Rose McGowan with a bazooka leg(and who wouldn't be interested in that...I mean, she has a freakin' gun as her leg...genius!) check out this clip.

Ok, gonna torture myself at the gym. Enjoy your weekend and Happy Easter!

Tranformers, Harry Potter, Twin Peaks, Oh My!

Here's the cover to the new Harry Potter novel. What's Harry reaching for? Our wallets or Hermione's boobs?

This production photo for the Transformers movie looks friggin' awesome. I get so hard thinking about this movie, but then I remember Michael Bay is directing and I become flaccid again. I mean did anyone else see The Island. Even Scarlett Johansson couldn't save that movie for me. Or how about Pearl Harbor? Once again, despite having Kate Beckinsale, totally sucked anus.

One last item for today. Twin Peaks - The Second Season comes out on DVD this week. Not sure why it took so long between the Season One DVD set and this one, but it's finally here. Some of you younger readers may not remember this show, but it kicks some major trippy butt! If you need clarification, check out season one and two and you'll grok.
